From water aerobics to strength and conditioning classes, active seniors—or those who wish to be more active—can find a wide range of choices to help improve their health and well-being.
Active Older Adults Fitness Programs
The following classes are geared toward active older adults, but all fitness levels are welcome to attend.
- Flexibility Formula
Exercises and movements developed for people who suffer from arthritis and/or similar joint discomforts. Class is seated in chairs and utilizes resistance bands, dumbbells, weighted bars, and other equipment to create a great workout.
- Gentle Yoga
A slow, relaxing approach to learning traditional yoga poses. Great for beginners or those who prefer a more gentle approach.
- Low-Impact Workout
A class of fitness and fun activities designed for anyone young at heart. Low-impact cardio and resistance training, including step aerobics, help make this class a great total body workout.
- SilverSneakers I - Muscular Strength & Range of Motion
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance; a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
- Silver Splash
Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! Silver Splash offers LOTS of fun and shallow-water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special Silver Sneakers kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.

- "Twinges in the Hinges" Water Aerobics
Taught in conjunction with the YMCA, this National Arthritis Foundation program is designed to reduce pain and stiffness while increasing range of motion of the joints.
