Community as Medicine

Program Overview

Community as Medicine is a holistic wellness program connecting participants to physical, emotional, and social well-being through movement, mindfulness, and community engagement. It promotes the idea that belonging and connection are as essential to health as nutrition and exercise.
 

The Program

Participants engage in guided group activities such as walking, light fitness, stress management, and wellness discussions. Each session blends education and community-building to help create sustainable lifestyle habits that improve overall quality of life.
Program Goals
Over the course of the 12-week program, Community As Medicine at the YMCA will support you in:
  • Promote social connection and emotional wellness
  • Improve physical activity and self-care practices
  • Encourage mindfulness and stress reduction
  • Strengthen community support for holistic health
Program Eligibility
Open to adults of all ages seeking to improve overall wellness and community connection.
