The YMCA youth volleyball league offers each child the opportunity to gain a basic understanding of volleyball. Coaches will help each child develop the basic skills for bumping, setting, and serving and put an emphasis on learning teamwork and communication. Each child will get two chances to serve before a point is awarded to the other team. Each team will play 8 games consisting of 3 rounds per game. Age groups for volleyball are 8-11 and 12-14. Both age groups are co-ed.

• April 17 – Registration Opens
• May 22 – Registration Closes
• Week of June 5 – Parent/Coach Meetings
• Week of June 12 – First Practice
• June 24 – First Game
• August 12- Last Game

UNIFORMS

All players will be required to have the official YMCA volleyball sports jersey. The jersey is available for purchase ($25) at the front desk of your local YMCA.

LOCATIONS & PRACTICE

Practices will be held at your home YMCA branch, date and time will be determined by the volunteer coaches

Games may rotate between all YMCA of Greater Tulsa locations depending on league size.

COACHES NEEDED

The YMCA uses volunteer coaches to provide leadership to the community through structured athletic activities. If you are interested in coaching, please contact the Sports Department for more information.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

It is the policy of the YMCA of Greater Tulsa that no person be denied membership or program participation due to the inability to pay. Funds for financial assistance are provided through the YMCA’s Annual Support Campaign.
