What: This is a recreational league for players looking to have fun and be active!
When: 7-game season with final weekend tournament – First game 3/21, final tournament 5/9
Where: Games will be played on Friday nights at TCC West. Open net time will be provided for teams throughout the week at TCC West or Herman & Kate Kaiser YMCA.
Who: Members and non-members
Price: $200 per team (10 player maximum, 6 player minimum)
Notes: Teams will need to provide 1 ref from their team to ref another game each week. All players must be at least 18 years old and present an acceptable form of ID at every match.
There are 2 divisions within this league: beginner and intermediate. Please use the following information to choose which division will be best for your team!
1. Beginner Level
Overview:
- Who It’s For The beginner level is ideal for those who are new to volleyball or have limited experience with the sport. This level focuses on building fundamental skills, understanding basic rules, and developing confidence on the court.
- Key Skills: At the beginner level, players work on basic skills such as serving, passing, setting, and hitting. The emphasis is on learning proper techniques and gaining familiarity with the flow of the game.
Signs You’re a Beginner Player:
- You’re still learning the basic rules of volleyball.
- You’re working on consistently serving the ball over the net.
- You may struggle with ball control and positioning on the court.
- You’re building confidence in making contact with the ball during play.
2. Intermediate Level
Overview:
- Who It’s For: The intermediate level is suited for players who have a solid grasp of the basic skills and are ready to take their game to the next level. This level involves more complex strategies, teamwork, and positional play.
- Key Skills: Intermediate players work on refining their skills, improving consistency, and developing a deeper understanding of the game. They focus on advanced techniques such as jump serves, quick sets, and effective blocking.
Signs You’re an Intermediate Player:
- You have a good understanding of volleyball rules and positions.
- You can consistently serve the ball over the net and place it in specific areas.

You’re comfortable with basic ball control and can execute passes, sets, and hits with reasonable accuracy.
