Program Overview
Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance is an evidence-based group exercise program designed to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and mobility through the slow, flowing movements of Tai Chi. This program focuses on building stability to prevent falls and enhance daily function, especially for older adults or those at risk of falls.
The Program
Participants learn eight forms of Tai Chi emphasizing weight shifting, body alignment, and coordinated breathing. Classes are led by certified instructors in a supportive group setting.
Over time, participants can expect improved confidence, posture, and overall physical function.

Program Goals
Over the course of the 12-week program, Tai Chi at the YMCA will support you in:
- Improve balance and stability
- Increase leg strength and flexibility
- Reduce the risk of falls
- Promote mindfulness and relaxation
Program Eligibility
Open to adults of all fitness levels. No prior experience required.

Free for YMCA members. Financial assistance available for non-members.
